St. Mary’s Soil Conservative District (District) is seeking an individual to fill our erosion & sediment control specialist position. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing urban erosion and sediment control plans, performing pre-construction meetings, correspondence with consulting firms and maintaining the District and County Databases. The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and comes with benefits. The District will entertain less than full-time employment for a highly qualified individual. Full time benefits include annual and sick leave, paid holidays, health benefits and simple IRA. Starting salary is equivalent to State of Maryland Grade 15 step 5 pay scale. Eligible applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Science or a related discipline. Work experience in natural resources, engineering or surveying may be substituted with education on a year per year basis. The position requires office and field work. Applicants should have a basic understanding of erosion and sediment control principles and have experience in interpretating civil CAD drawings and reading topographic maps.
